نحن الموقعون هنا مجموعة من المثقفين والاكاديميين واناس عاديين من مختلف الطبقات والفئات الاجتماعية في العراق اصدرنا هذا النداء الى القوى العاشقة للحرية في العالم ننتظر تضامنها مع شعبنا في كفاحه من أجل الحرية والعدالة الاجتماعية والمساواة وبناء دولة مدنية حديثة.
منذ عدة أيام تشهد العديد من مدن العراق احجاجات وتظاهرات انطلقت للتعبير عن رفض سوء الاحوال الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والاداء الحكومي المخيب ونقص الخدمات وانتشار الفساد المالي والسياسي في مؤسسات البلاد وتفشي البطالة خصوصا في أوساط الشباب، وبالرغم من ان جوهر هذه الاحتجاجات هو المطالبات بفضح الاهمال الحكومي وانعدام الخدمات الاساسية كالماء الصالح للاستخدام البشري والكهرباء التي يترافق انقطاعها مع أرتفاع كبير في درجات الحرارة وتحول المدن إلى مكبات نفايات نتيجة الاهمال فان الاحتجاجات التي أنطلقت سلمية ومطلبية فقد جوبهت بعنف منفلت وغير مسبوق من الأجهزة الامنية وقوات الجيش ومليشيات الاحزاب، تمثل باطلاق الرصاص الحي، والتعذيب والاعتداءات الجسدية ، وحملات الاعتقالات والاختطاف، يضاف إلى ذلك حملات اتهامات للمحتجين بالتخريب والعمل لصالح قوى خارجية أو داخلية، والتهديد بممارسة عنف أشد وطأة تطلقه السلطة ضد المحتجين بسبب تجمهرهم واقترابهم من المؤسسات العامة ومقرات الاحزاب والمليشيات. ان الأيام الماضية شهدت سقوط العشرات من الجرحى والقتلى في صفوف المتظاهرين، حيث وثقت العديد من التقارير والصور عمليات قتل وضرب واعتداء وحشية من قبل القوات الامنية وعناصر اخرى مليشيات اخرى تابعة لقوى سياسية مشاركة في السلطة والعمل السياسي في البلاد . إن هذه الإنتهاكات الجسيمة والاجرامية من قبل القوى الأمنية ومن معها من قوات غير رسمية وتعنت السلطة الحاكمة في العراق، في عدم الاستجابة لمطالب المحتجين دفع المتظاهرين لرفع وتيرة مطالبهم ، خصوصا وهم يشعرون بالحيف من هذه السلطة وممارساتها وكذلك ايزاء صمت دولي فاضح لادانة التعامل الوحشي والاجرامي الذي جوبهت به الاحتجاجات في العراق. ندعو المنظمات الدولية العاملة في مجال حقوق الإنسان، والاتحاد الأوربي لممارسة دورها في الضغط على الحكومة العراقية لوقف ممارساتها العنفية ضد المحتجين، ومحاسبة زعماء المليشيات الذي أصدروا الاوامر لأتباعهم بأطلاق الرصاص الحي على المحتجين وممارسة الإنتهاكات الجسدية والتعذيب والاختطاف ضدهم.
نحن الموقعون على هذا البيان من المثقفين والاكاديميين والمدافعين عن حقوق الانسان وغيرهم في العراق وخارج العراق ندعو وبقوة المجتمع الدولي والمنظمات الدولية والمحلية ذات الصلة بتحمل مسؤولياتها الاخلاقية في الدفاع عن حق العراقيين في التعبير الحر عن ارائهم عبر تنظيم وممارسة التظاهر والاحتجاج وسائر الفعاليات السلمية الاخرى للمطالبة العادلة والمشروعة بحقوق عشرات ملايين العراقيين الذين يعانون في ظل واقع مزري ونقص حاد في الخدمات الضرورية للحياة البشرية وفي ظل اهمال حكومي فاضح، في الوقت الذي تمارس قوى السلطة واحزابها فساداً منقطع النظير من خلال الاستيلاء على ميزانية الدولة وتقاسم الثروات فيما بينها. كما ندعو جميع دول العالم الى ادانة الممارسات الوحشية للقوات التي تتصدى للمحتجين السلميين والدعوة العاجلة والفورية لتقديم المسؤولين عن هذه الممارسات الوحشية والاجرامية الى القضاء.

Solidarity Campaign with the uprising of Iraqi people for freedom, equality , and social justice...
We, the undersigned, are a group of intellectuals, academics, and citizens from different strata and social groups in Iraq, who have made this appeal to the freedom-loving forces of the world, waiting for their solidarity with our people in their struggle for freedom, justice, equality, and building modern civil state. .
For days, many cities in Iraq witnessed protests and demonstrations triggering corruption, which pervades the State, its institutions and youth unemployment, government neglect and lack of basic services such as water for human use and electricity which is not available during severe weather conditions of high temperatures and cities turning into landfills as a result of negligence. Peaceful protests and demands were met with uncontrolled and unprecedented violence from the security services, military forces and parties militias, shooting live bullets, torture, physical assaults, attempts to run over by security forces vehicles, arrests and abductions campaigns, in addition to an accusations of subversion and working for the interests of or on behalf of external or internal forces, and the threat of more severe violence by the authorities against protesters because they could come close to public institutions, parties and militia headquarters. The past few days have seen records of wounded and dead among the demonstrators, some of whom have been killed by militias and under the direct supervision of the security forces, which refrained from providing assistance in transporting the wounded and the dead to hospitals. The violations by the security forces and the intransigence of the ruling authority in Iraq, in response to the demands of the protesters, prompted the demonstrators to raise the pace of their demands, especially as they feel the injustice of power and its practices and the international silence that has disappointed the protests in Iraq. We call on international organizations working in the field of human rights and the European Union to exert their role in pressuring the Iraqi government to stop its violent practices against protesters, and held accountable the militia leaders who ordered their followers to fire live bullets at protesters and engage in physical abuse, torture and abduction against them. The international community must take its political and moral responsibilities in defending the just and legitimate demands of the millions of Iraqis who are suffering of unemployment, poverty and deliberate government negligence, while the ruling power and their parties wield unparalleled havoc by seizing the budget Of the State and the sharing of wealth among them.
